iiNet Mobile Plan
Review and Comparison
Frequently Asked Questions About iiNet Mobile Plan
How do I get 50% off my plan?
iiNet will automatically take 50% off each recharge fee when you pay for your first month as a new customer. After 6 months the charges will revert to the standard monthly cost. If you cancel before your 6 months is up you won’t be able to access the discount again. The discount is a great deal and means iiNet’s plans start from just $10.
What’s included with iiNet plans?
You’ll get a free SIM card, unlimited calls and texts (including MMS) in Australia and access to 4G on all plans. It includes unlimited calls to 13/1300 and 1800 numbers, iiNet Support and voicemail deposit and retrieval.
The Large 40GB plan has an optional bundle deal, where you can nab an extra 80GB of data each month if you package your plan with iiNet home internet.
The Extra Large 55GB plan is currently trialling 5G (where it’s available) and includes 100 minutes of international calls to selected countries.
When can I expect my SIM to arrive?
If you live in a metro area and order before 12pm on a weekday, your SIM will be sent express delivery and should arrive the next business day. If you live regionally, expect delivery in 3 to 5 days.
How do I recharge my plan each month?
iiNet is set up to automatically recharge when your plan expires. Auto recharge can stop you from running out of data, but it also means you’ll need to remember to cancel before the expiry date if you want to change plans or providers.
What if I need extra data?
If you use more than your included data, you’ll be charged $10 per 2GB (or part thereof). iiNet will send you an SMS alert when you reach 50% and 85% of your included data.
Does my data roll into the next month if I don’t use it?
Unfortunately, iiNet doesn’t have a data rollover or data banking feature. Consider how much data you think you’ll need so you don’t pay for data you don’t use.

You can keep your existing number by requesting it during the activation process. It may take a few hours or up to a day for your number to port over to iiNet. If you’re fine with a new number just follow the activation steps.

What network does iiNet use?
iiNet uses the Vodafone network, which has marginally less coverage than Telstra and Optus. However, that’s rarely an issue unless you live regionally or travel to remote locations; Vodafone’s network still covers 96% of the population.
SUMMARY
iiNet’s plans are basic but do a great job for a great price if you’re after standard calling and texting features. The 50% off discount for 6 months lets you try out the plans with the option of switching later if you find something more competitively priced.
Bundling your phone plan with iiNet’s home internet offers incredible value. On the Large Plan, you’ll receive 80GB extra per month. With the 50% discount, that means 120GB per month for just $15.
